  • BOP Response Centre is manned by eldercare-trained call agents who will assess the situation and activate emergency services if needed
  • Caregivers and nominated next-of-kin are kept updated via the BOP App

SINGAPORE, March 15, 2024 BOP Pte Ltd, a home-grown technology solutions provider, is pleased to announce the launch of BOP, which combines cutting-edge technology with a dedicated 24/7 eldercare helpdesk service. The launch was held at the SG Assist Caregiver Resource Centre in Yishun, with the BOP device featured as one of the promising eldercare solutions in the newly opened Age+ Living Lab, co-located within the centre.

Designed with independent seniors in mind, BOP aims to help the elderly age gracefully and safely in the comfort of their own homes. It consists of a wireless and battery-powered emergency button that allows seniors-in-distress to speak with an eldercare-trained response centre who will assess the situation and activate emergency services if needed, while keeping caregivers and next-of-kin updated via a mobile app.

The BOP Button can be easily mounted on walls using its adhesive back surface, without hassle of messy drilling or cabling. Also, it does not require a WiFi connection, but instead utilises the 4G network, ensuring not only convenience but also reliability. Lastly, boasting a three-year battery life as well as splash-proof IP rating, the BOP Button can be installed in bathrooms where the risk of falls is highest.

The BOP Response Centre is a manned 24 / 7 by eldercare-trained call agents whose job is to ensure that the senior-in-distress gets prompt assistance in an emergency. If needed, they will activate emergency services,  such as Singapore Civil Defence Force or Singapore Police Force, while keeping the caregivers and next-of-kin updated via the BOP App.

The BOP button is available for sale on the company’s website (www.buddyofparents.com) at launch price of S$99 per device (down from the regular retail price of S$200) with a monthly subscription fee of S$20 per home.

JY Chen, Director of BOP Pte Ltd, commented: “We are excited to bring BOP Button to consumers in Singapore, having witnessed the life-saving benefits of such a system proven in thousands of homes since 2019. We look forward to participate in  this fast-growing market with more BOP IoT innovations that enhance the paradigm of how we can age well as a society.”

Lourdsamy Dass, a 66-year-old SUSS Genrontech Ambassador, commented:  “I find this product very useful for seniors like me.  I tried the product today and was very impressed at how fast the call centre responded. Getting help fast in an emergency can make a difference between life and death.”

Greg Tan, CEO of SG Assist Pte Ltd, said: “At SG Assist, we understand the challenges caregivers face in ensuring the well-being of their elderly loved ones, especially when they’re living independently. BOP offers caregivers and seniors peace of mind knowing help is just a push of a button away. We are proud to support BOP.”
